17-09-2017As part of the "InnoWood" project of the INTERREG V-A Austria-Hungary Program, the PANFA AIK Cluster organized a one-day study trip to Styria, to Austria.
The aim of the study visit was to strengthen entrepreneurial confidence between SMEs in the wood and furniture sectors on both sides of the border, and to exchange knowledge and experience of SMEs in research and development, good practice and innovation.

Study trip to Milan

The study trip will take place within the framework of the INTERREG V-A Austria-Hungary ATHU59 project. Project-funded services: travel costs (bus), accommodation in a 3-4-star hotel in single and double rooms, half board, admission ticket to the furniture exhibition of the 'Salone Internazionale del Mobile' in Milan.

Austrian-Hungarian Furniture Design Innovation Camp
02-05-2018You are invited to our INNOVATION CAMP between May 2nd and May 6th at the University of Sopron, Simonyi Károly Faculty of Engineering, Wood Science and Art. The camp is organised in the framework of InnoWood ATHU 59 project (Network and Innovation Cooperation for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Austrian-Hungarian Border Region) by the Pannon Wood and Furniture Cluster, the Holzcluster Steiermark, Institute für Innovations- und Trendforschung, Graz, and FH Burgenland).

Participants in the study trip could get a glimpse behind the scenes of the most innovative and interesting woodworking companies in the Upper Austrian region.

30-08-2018In the highly successful Innovation Camp in May, more than two dozen pieces of furniture were put on paper by nearly eighty participants. From the six winning projects selected, tangible prototypes were made during the summer.
For the general public, one of Europe's largest woodworking trade fair in Klagenfurt, the "Holz & Bau Messe" was unveiled by partners involved in InnoWood INTERREG AT-HU 059, along with the creators. The Innovation Area of the fair is an introductory opportunity for the forward-looking innovations of the wood industry, where student works are also included.
Wood architecture innovation workshop series - 1. Workshop
30-08-2018The first station of the Wood architecture innovation workshop series aimed for the participating students, lecturers and entrepreneurs to have a joint look at the main wood architecture trends. The Timber Fair offered an excellent opportunity, so the participants visited lectures and presentations in the fair that had been agreed on in advance. Later they came up with problems of wood architecture that need to be solved. They all agreed about the importance of the results of the innovation camps as an input for the students and lecturers participating in the planning. This is why it is very important to state preferably concrete tasks at the end of the series. Relating to the products that are to be developed the participants of the workshop investigate issues like which wood architecture idea can be the solution to which problem, and among the feasibility criteria they focused on functionality, design and technology.

06-09-2018Bednárik Éva greeted the students, lecturers and entrepreneurs present. She described the aim of the workshop as to give a joint definition of the wood architecture problems to be solved during the project and the related specifications. The main topic of the workshop is to become acquainted with the trends, to choose the relevant ones, group them and investigate the interactions between them. Manfred Ninaus reviewed the theoretical background of trend-based innovation brainstorming as well as the Business Model Canvas that gives a business framework to the whole innovation process.

30-11-2018The jury, consisting of Austrian and Hungarian university teachers, renowned architects, wood industry professionals and InnoWood project partners, made its final decision on 6th November in Mödling.
INNOWOOD INNOVATION CAMP, organized by the PANFA Cluster at the Visitor Center of the University of Sopron in Ligneum, was held between September 17-21. During the five days of the camp, students of the University of Sopron, Károly Simonyi Faculty, the Mödling Höhere Technische Lehranstalt and of the Széchenyi István University in Győr, created more than 70 ideas together.
