Our journey in the Interreg Slam 2024-2025 competition
The road of the PaNaNet+ project to the Interreg Slam grand finale
We are proud that the PaNaNet+ project participated in the grand finale of the Interreg Slam 2024-2025. Balance is an excellent stage performance and a great video about the beautiful landscapes, the efforts towards barrier-free environmental experiences and slow tourism.
But now, let’s take a closer look at the main steps of this adventure to the grand finale.
The application round of the Interreg Slam competition was open in late spring and early summer last year. A storytelling presentation had to be submitted at that time to apply. Our Programme, applied with the story of the nature experience, environmental education and green tourism covering project PaNaNet+, also had an inclusion intention towards people with special needs. This intention grew into a stand-alone topic, which will be carried on in the follow-up project, BaNEx. The mosaic word stands literally for barrier-free nature experience.
Our story was judged good enough to get to the second round of the competition out of the total 39 submitted stories. In the second round, a video was produced with the help of professional creators hired by Interact for PaNaNet+. This video competed with 5 other ones in the social media round in collecting votes, where it received the third most likes. Thanks to everyone who liked our video. We are extremely proud of the performance and the video itself, which shows the impressive natural sites and diversity of the landscape of our cross-border region.
The third and final round took place in Gorizia/Nova Gorica within the major event of the Interreg family, the InterregGO, at the end of March. The six finalists gave live performances on stage. Our colleagues from the PaNaNet+ project and the Managing Authority, after intensive preparation before the event, performed a suggestive scene there, drawing attention to the barrier-free nature experience and the inclusion of people with special needs within, besides telling the large audience about the natural treasures of our region.
