Together sustainable - day of sustainability in Rudersdorf

20-08-2022

Mobility is of central importance to the population of Rudersdorf.

Lively interest in sustainability issues was shown by the population of Rudersdorf. On Saturday, August 20, 2022, Vice Mayor David Venus invited to the Sustainability Day in the Kultursaal (Cultural Hall) in Rudersdorf and numerous interested and committed citizens followed his call. Burgenland Energie, the business agency Burgenland Forschungs- und Innovations GmbH, the Verkehrsbetriebe Burgenland and Volkshilfe Burgenland provided information on various aspects of sustainable living at their stands. The Burgenland Mobility Center (Mobilitätszentrale Burgenland) was also represented, along with the “Martha” cargo bike.

Topics such as public transport in and around Burgenland, the expansion and improvement of Burgenland's cycle paths and the suitability of e-mobility for everyday use were often discussed and we were able to take valuable input for our work from the discussions. The “Martha” cargo bike was particularly popular. In order to explore the driving experience, a course provided by ARBÖ Burgenland in the parking lot of the cultural hall as well as the adjoining cycle path (R65 connecting cycle path Rudersdorf-Heiligenkreuz) were available to visitors.
